Structure

Subject + have/has + past participle

  • I have visited Paris three times.
  • She has finished her homework.
  • We have never seen that movie.

  • I have already eaten.
  • Have you finished yet?
  • She has just arrived.
  • I have lived here for five years.
  • I have lived here since 2020.

Present Perfect vs Simple Past

Present Perfect = no specific time | Simple Past = specific time

I have been to London. (sometime in my life) vs I went to London last year. (specific time)
