How to Think in English (Stop Translating!)
Break the translation habit and start thinking directly in English.
Why Translating Slows You Down
When you translate from your native language, your brain does double work: think in French/Arabic → translate → speak in English. This makes you slow and unnatural.
1. Label Your Environment
Look around and name everything in English. Don't think "chaise" then "chair" — just think "chair".
2. Narrate Your Day
Describe what you're doing in English: "I'm making coffee. Now I'm checking my phone. It's a beautiful day."
3. Use English-English Dictionaries
Stop using French-English dictionaries. Use Cambridge or Oxford Learner's dictionaries that explain words in simple English.
4. Keep a Thought Journal
Write your thoughts in English every evening. Don't worry about mistakes — the goal is to think in English.
5. Dream in English
Watch or read something in English right before bed. Many learners report they start dreaming in English!
6. Talk to Our AI Tutor
Use the Anglais Pratique AI tutor to have natural conversations in English. The more you practice, the more natural English thinking becomes.
